Cupping Massage

90 min/$130 | 120 min/$160

Cupping massage is the use of silicone suction cups to apply ‘negative pressure’ or suction to the tissue with glide.   What that does is bring blood to the surface and provide a feeling of superficial myofascial release in ways that compression massage techniques can not.  We combine the 'moving cupping' technique with Swedish Massage for an ultra soothing experience.   Cupping is widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine among other practices around the world. At Rapture, we rarely leave the cups stationary for any significant length of time.

Disclaimer:  cupping therapy may leave light bruises.

Who should NOT receive Cupping Therapy?

Those with serious medical conditions such as cardiac failure, renal failure, any kind of liver illness, ascites due to hepato-cirrhosis and severe edema, organ failure, slipped discs, 3D varicosities hemorrhagic diseases such as allergic purpura, hemophilia and leukemia, and clients with dermatosis, destruction of skin, or allergic dermatitis.

Reflexology (60 minutes)

60 min/$75

Reflexology is a type of massage, mostly applied to the feet and/or hands, that is based on the principle that specific areas on the extremities correspond to particular muscle groups or organs.  The nerve endings provide a sort of ‘map’ of the rest of the body, so by applying pressure to parts of this ‘map’, we treat the corresponding areas.  In Chinese medicine, it is believed that energy runs through the body via channels known as meridians, and compressions to parts of the feet can promote circulation of this energy. Reflexology is a great alternative to a full body massage session; it can relieve stress and anxiety, reduce pain, stimulate nerve function, and promote relaxation.  Offered by Erin.
